"Okay.. I decided today is the day to finally share my Photos and Journey on Skinny Fiber, with all of you, my members of this wonderful group..So many of you I consider to be such close friends, even if our relationship has been here on FB. Others, family & friends off of here, and always supporting me. I share this now with everyone, so that you know, I am no different than any one of you out here. I hope this will inspire some of you to come on and make the change.. You deserve it, don't you?
I stopped smoking almost 3 years ago. Had a bout with stress in all areas of my life, around the same time I quit smoking and turned to food for comfort. I began noticing my gradual weight gain. I knew what was happening but kept going. As time went on, the bigger I got, the more excuses I seemed to find as to when I would start taking care of myself and ease up on all the food I just kept turning to. I was going to start tomorrow. I knew how to do this, I had done it before and was very successful with it. One excuse after another. I have very bad arthritis in my right knee. I could not even do my workouts in the gym anymore, because of the swelling and pain I would have during and after I worked out. I dropped the gym. Not only because of my knee but because I felt embarrassed as to how I looked. Before I knew it, I was in the store, depressed, because once again, I had to choose an outfit for a family event. There I was in the size 14, than 16. I knew it had to stop. Besides my right knee hurting all the time at that point, I could hardly climb my stairs, while carrying my granddaughter without constantly stopping because of the pain and being out of breath. Knowing what I had to do, I still found excuse and did nothing but continue drowning my feeling sorry for myself, in more food.
One day, not sure how, while on face book, I seen something about Skinny Fiber. Think it was the delicious recipes I would see on a friends page. I decided to go ahead and join the group so that I may have access to the recipes. I began reading what the group was about, others stories of the illnesses and issues they were having and needing to change. I seen testimonies, from others, just like myself. I read motivational posts, that made me really think. What really got to me,for me to make the change, was taking my before pictures and my weight and measurements. Also, and this is something I will always be grateful for the most, it helped me get back to a normal sleeping pattern. Sometimes I do not want to get out of bed. lol I went from sleeping 4-5 hours(maybe) a night, broken sleep to a good 8 hours or more, solid sleep. I am happy to share, I have a total Loss of 19 lbs. & 37.6" total body.
Listen, it took me a long time to decide to show these pictures. I am here showing them now to hopefully let you all know, it is okay. We are in the same boat. We will travel this road together and if you let me, I will do my best to give you the tools to be successful at it.
